May Day

May Day is a big deal in Hawaii, for some reason, and so they voted for the princesses, (above), and their queen (above and below), their king and princes, kind of like homecoming. Their performances were during school, and then they had a "Fun Fair" after school. Melissa skipped her one class that day and went down with Matt to see "a day in the life of student teaching." All the little kids were so cute, (though Matt knows some of their true natures-apparently they are not as sweet sometimes), and their thirteen year old fire knife dancer was actually pretty good. Mahalo!

(The whole coconut bra thing on eighth grade girls was a little, um, unflattering! Poor girls!)
