Melissa's Terrifying Adventures

Most of our common viewers have already heard the news, but for those who have not been informed Melissa was robbed, along with one of her fellow tellers, on January 6th. Seems that it's a pretty big deal, not just to Melissa, but also enough to be in the news - twice! Apparently the FBI frowns upon bringing a gun into a federal building...go figure. Below is a picture of the robber that appeared in a local newspaper (he's the ominous looking dude with the beanie and glasses, not to be confused with the very kind, and afterward terrified customer who used to be a regular at the branch...funny thing, he has been going to an alternate WaMu ever since the sixth...wonder why?):
(The back of Melissa's head is in a different picture that was put in another newspaper, but luckily she was left out of this crisp, color photo as she was not having a particularly good hair day.)

Here is a link to a video about the robbery too: www.policevideonews.com/index.php/2009/01/08/police-searching-for-wamu-bank-robber/

All in all the experience was actually not funny or fun in any way, but since it happened Melissa feels she deserves a blog post about it. Aside from that, the portrait of Juno on this post is merely so that when we open up our blog the first picture we see is not of the jerk who scared the poop out of Melissa, (especially since some guy had to get his tubby gut in the camera shot as well...as if the whole thing wasn't traumatic enough).

Well, hopefully such experiences are done and out of the way. Next time we post we hope it will be from a new home...keep your fingers crossed!

I confess... I lauged when I first saw it, but only because Melissa is okay, thinking about it more, I'm very happy she's okay, and hope you're doing good!

Holy schnikies! That's crazy! So did you give him the money? Do they train you for those situations? how did you react (besides being scared out of your mind)?

Thanks, Dave...I'm doing great...just a little bitter towards robbers though. Yeah, Heather I gave him the money! I wasn't going to argue with a crazy man! :) And Jason, that's okay you laughed...I just expect more delicious Chinese food next time we see you as an apology!

Ooh, that's scary! Sadly, I know quite a few friends that have been robbed while working as a teller. Hopefully now that you've got one under your belt, you'll have filled your lifetime quota.

I really like your dark hair, and those icicles at Grammy's are AWESOME!

Holy cow! This is the first time I've heard about this! I can't believe Melissa was robbed what a terrifying experience! I was a teller before and I don't know what I would do if that happened. I'm glad that everything is okay and that she's safe and sound. We send our ALOHA from all the way over here in Hawaii.
    Take care,
    Crystal

Heather, we want to treat your request with the utmost concern, however we still don't have internet...long story involving a stupid company I won't mention by name, (it starts with "Ver" and ends in "izon,"but I won't slander their name on the internet). Hopefully soon we'll have all sorts of updates for you! Mahalo! :)
