Over the River and Through the Woods...

...to Grammy's house we go! Well, it's actually more like "up the mountain and through the black ice," but the first version sounds much more romantic. We finally got to go see Grammy for the first time in awhile. Some snowy storms kept us at the bottom of the hill for awhile, but the way to Big Bear is now clear and we got to go see all the after effects. We know it's tough to live in sometimes, but we thought the snow and ice were beautiful!

While we were there our thoughtful Grammy had a fun activity for us, as always! She had us decorate gingerbread cookies. We were very proud of our results.

Everyone, (pictured below), also decorated a ginger bread house which was supposed to inspire us in decorating our new home. We're not sure if we'll follow the plans exactly, as the house did turn out a little crazy, but we appreciate the thought!

After that it was picture taking time....our favorite part of every outing!

We can't wait until our next Big Bear adventure!

P.S. Melissa's brother, Jared sent her this quote, and we thought it rather reflected our own feelings about all those people who scarf down everything around the holidays and then make new year's resolutions to get thin again (ourselves included!):
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in
sideways, chocolate in one hand, a glass of coke in the other, body
thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
