We're Back to Blogging!

Sorry about the delay on posts all you McIntosh fans out there. We won't go into the reasons behind our absence, or which (Verizon) company we hate right now, but the good news is we are finally online in our new house!

The more time we spend in our casa, the more we LOVE it! It's small and cute and just a whole lot fun! Because we're a little behind in our going-ons we'll just start with our first week after closing, and go from there in a post-coming-shortly!

Our house needed some work on it's floor when we first purchased it. The kitchen, bathroom, and hallway were great, but the rest of the home was in dire need of some TLC. We decided to start with the entryway, where we wanted to add a little tile. First we had to get rid of the disgusting carpet...
...then the tack strips....
...next mix, mix, mixing the mortar...
...and finally pouring, placing the tiles, and all that labor that goes with a wonderful entryway!

While our tiles set, Matt and his parents got rid of the rest of the nasty carpet throughout the house, (good thing we caught Dad's better side there...).
You can't imagine how a house with no padding echoes!

Matt's parents were so kind as to provide the appliances needed in our kitchen. The stove, (which is amazing), went in with little problem...
...the fridge, however, had everyone puzzled for a bit. (Matt seems to be trying to intimidate the thing?)
Finally things got rolling!
And there we were, ready for cooking adventures...almost!
What a beautiful display of appliance prowess!

After a few days of waiting we were thrilled to have lovely, plush carpet on our floors! We had to document the first step onto our prize.
Awwww...there is a sight for sore eyes, (either the carpet or Matt, but we were referring to the carpet).
A perfect set-up for carpet angels.

With the carpet in, we were ready to bring in our more important belongings. Melissa's first phone call in the new home, on a new chair, on a new surface...how exciting!

Shortly after the carpet's debut we moved ourselves, our pets, and all our loads of stuff into our abode, but the rest of the saga will be reported later!

Congratulations on the new house! It looks really nice. I'm jealous of your new carpet and appliances! You two must be turning into grownups, owning property and all. Good luck with all the yardwork and renovations!

Hey guys- we should get together sometime and vent about Verizon... I'm at the breaking point. Our contract isn't up until next AUGUST!
