Our Christmas Vacation: Part III - Happy New Year!!

What is missing from this picture, taken New Year's Eve, Eve?
Mt. Hood! The cloudy winter tries to hide it, but it can't stay cloudy everyday! Matt got his first good look at a beautiful, snowy, Mt. Hood on New Year's Eve...

...and if the above picture didn't do it justice, here is why Oregon is amazing (well, one reason!):

Here's the whole motley crew, minus the photographer, of course!

Matt had the unthinkable pleasure of participating in German-style Old Maid, (the card game), taught to us by Dad's Aunt Rosemary (who is from Germany, in fact). Basically, the loser of the round gets drawn on with a burnt cork by the last person who gave them the Old Maid card. The drawer can only draw one continuous line, which means Matt lost a total of three times...it's hard to say if he'll ever play again!
We Koch's take the game very seriously...

....uh, as you can see...

All in all, Melissa still loved him, even with his goofy cork drawings... ...and when you love someone...
...there's nothing like kissing the New Year in. Happy New Year everyone, and we hope yours has started out as great as ours has!
